Re: Becomming a New Dep
haha he's the best!
if you go on youtube there's a video of him letting my friend Beckie play chop-sticks on the organ
i think the key-words are beckie, organ, chop-sticks... something like that
i can't be bothered to reply to the PM again, how bout we move the conversation to myspace/facebook/bebo? whichever suits best!

I'll look it up.
Facebook is good for me. Search "John Ash", and I should come up.

Great to see you back Gemma - and dig those legs; be careful they don't transplant to the Mucca board.gemmygemmerson wrote:Induction week Induction week!
How's tricks? Still surviving or drowning in paperwork ?
Having more money doesn't make you happier. I have 50 million dollars
but I'm just as happy as when I had 48 million.

Re: Becomming a New Dep
I'm surviving, just about anyway. I have managed to get all of my coursework done so now it's just the hard slog to the finish line/exams.
The photo is of my feet after the steeplechase. They were actualy a lot muddier than that, I had mud all down my legs, but yeah. I came 18th!!!!!!. I am so proud spesh since I didn't train at all and sprained my ankle/busted my hip/threw up half way through the course.
About swearing, well, I'm from south london too so I fully understand where you are coming from. I still have troubles here, usualy it depends who you hang out with because some of my friends really hate it when I swear and some don't really mind and swear too. Other than that it's pretty much a no-swearing policy whenever you are in the vicinity of a teacher/your housemistress ( big no no )/ anyone important/ visitors.
Defo don't swear in class, a rule I learnt in induction week when I was in latin and I got something wrong = a big ream of swearing came out of my mouth = everyone looked at me weirdly.

Re: Becomming a New Dep
i'm guessing this would be in context of someone asking "Where's .......?"
not you just walking down the street, going up to random people, shaking their hand and saying "She's at home doing the washing up."
now that REALLY WOUD confuse some people!

Re: Becomming a New Dep
Swearing in English, I have to admit that my prose composition isn't up to the level that I can swear in Latin. Well, maybe a few phrases.
What GCSEs are you taking?. They are soon aren't they. hmmmmmmmmmmm

Re: Becomming a New Dep
yeh, uber soon...
i have 4 weeks left of school (thats four weeks OF school, not just four weeks... altogether it's about 6 weeks... anyway)
i don't have much school time left before study leave... and i haven't really started to revise... which is ein kleine problaim...
THOUGH i didn't revise for my maths mock, and i got well within a B... so thats ok... ish
anyway, i'm taking Drama, History, Religious Studies, German, English Literature, English Language, Science (double award), Maths, and Statistics
i've already got one of my Science GCSEs and i got a B or an A, don't remember, and i took Stats a year early and got a C... which considering i took it without being taught any of it and i wasn't MEANT to do the exam, is pretty good going!
what did you take...
and am i going to have to do PE??

Re: Becomming a New Dep
Right, lets see if I can remember my GCSES.
Engish Lit/Lang A*/A*
Double Science AA
Maths A*
Stats B
History A*
Latin A*
Spanish A*
French A*
D.T A
R.E A*
Yeah, And I've got an A in As maths under my belt aswell.
You seem to have some really good choices there.
Well, about P.E. You have to do house leagues on monday afternoons which is hockey in michaelmas and netball in spring term ( Colridge won hockey and Col B won netball WOOOOOOO ) there isn't house leagues in summer term but you do get to choose an active which, if you pick wisely you can get out of sports completey.
You also get an active on thursday which, again if you choose wisely you can get out of sport. I did yoga in michaelmas for my active ( filled out my active form wrong and got yoga!! ) and I did cooking for spring ( which was sooo fun) and I'm going to do fencing in summer term with rounders on monday.
If you are sly about it you can get out of doing any sport at all.
They are really close aren't they. My first As exam is the day before half term ( All my english and my hardest maths module) which is a real bummer. I'm so glad that I don't have to do the gcses again. woooot

Re: Becomming a New Dep
urgh, great scott you guys make me feel totally unexcellent
the sight of all those A*s is making me think i'm going to seem thick at CH
though that's probably me overreacting, as i'm predicted A* in the majority of my GCSEs, and i got 100% in my Drama and History coursework... but blimey Gemma, have you been headhunted for Oxford yet
???
now, you're going to have to take me through filling out a form wrong too, so that i get yoga!
to be honest, i'm sure that my house would prefer me to take yoga, unless they like losing Hockey matches
Ooh! i'm really excited right now!!! huzzah!

Re: Becomming a New Dep
You say Huzzah! too?. That's really freaky since, you can ask Josh, I say that all the time. It's like 'I got you a cake'..... 'Huzzah!' and 'there's no latin prep'........'huzzah'.
Well, you get a sheet of paper and on THURSDAY it has three boxes numbered one two and three. put Yoga in box one. ergo. you will get Yoga. Yoga will not interfere with paying hockey sadly since yoga is a thursday active and hockey house leagues is a monday. It depends on which house you are in since some houses try and get everyone to play but others if you are rubbish you can be all matyrish and say 'I'm going to give up my chance to play for the house because I care more about the hosue winning than for my own enjoyment'. therefore, everyone will not mind you not playing.he he he
Same with John, you will probably be able to get out of it. Most of my friends who are boys have never picked up a rugby ball in their life.
Well, my ambition is to do Classics at Oxford
