It came to me in at 3am.

Clark Gable.

Have you been in a Clark's shop recently, they have just done up the one in Wartford and it looks like something out of Star Wars? And the gable is the end of the house, the vertical piece rising to the V of the roof.

Add "L" to a big cat in a Welsh seaside town, not less

You add the L after the big cat to get the christian name
The surname is the welsh town followed by not less
Easier now?
