There were twins with the surname Sandys
Something odd happened and they disappeared
There were strange rumours but even if I say what was believed to have happened this post will be edited
Maybe one of them will answer and tell all...

I remember the Jewsburys (Charlotte & Emily - a couple of years below me) and the Gardners (Jonathan & Andrew - same year as me) - don't remember any more although I'm sure there probably were

Twins

Read in isolation that was a bizarre post - but now I've read the thread its a little clearer (but only a little).
As for twins - I also remember the Sandys - but not why they disappeared. Isnt one of them in TV???
I can't remember others but there were several pairs of identical ones.
Isnt it odd that identical twins aren't identical...

What do 'Queen Scouts' do, then?
Sounds like someone who would fetch the newspapers for Quentin Crisp...

I started this thread 'cos my twins are one set of many, mine are fraternal, chalk and cheese, but I am married to an identical and even at 53 they are still being mistaken for each other. See spooky thread for more details.

When you chose one of them - wasnt the other one a bit disappointed???
Are you 100% sure that they never change round?
What about when youve had a drink - can you still tell??

Do you remember Monty Python's 'Camp Square Bashing' sketch?
Interviewer:
And next the men of the Second Armoured Division regale us with their famous close order swanning about.
(Cut to sergeant with eight soldiers.)
Sergeant:
Squad. Camp it ... up!
Soldiers: (mincing in unison)
Oooh get her! Whoops! I've got your number ducky. You couldn't afford me, dear. Two three. I'd scratch your eyes out. Don't come the brigadier bit with us, dear, we all know where you've been, you military fairy. Whoops, don't look now girls the major's just minced in with that dolly colour sergeant, two, 'three, ooh-ho!
Probably un-P.C. nowadays.....

I only met them one at a time, at uni. and the other was very jealous, of me not his brother. They never change round, believe me.
At the parties (see spooky) I may have been a little more uninhibited with b-in-law than with another man (e.g. adjusting bra ) but I could still tell them apart.
We introduved b-in'law to his wife after she said to my husband, "are there any more at home like you?" Funnily enough.......
They celebrated their silver wedding last year. That was where my previous avatar pic was taken.

Yeah, the Sandys twins were ritually sacrificed on a remote Scottish island and then burned inside giant wicker figures.
There were also two twins called Cressall who famously hated each other. Eventually they beat each other to death with cricket bats.
