No stranger than a sonnet or a limerick or even iambic pentameter.

My sons know Big Boy
and the Little Boy as well,
the bombs to end wars!

The classroom too hot
to concentrate on maths books
so I never now remember how to count or to properly calculate the correct number of syllables for haiku.

The code names for the bombs were 'Little Boy' and 'Fat Man', not 'Big Boy'

It would still work, scan or whatever the correct word is.

No way could I better Mary Mc's beautiful and evocative work, so was aiming for something a bit JRish, centered around radiators and floating livers, but, instead, came up with
Scabby, itching knees
Showing between skirt and socks
On hill to Ashbourne
Crumpled, blood stained cloth
Clutched between trembling fingers
As bully approaches.
OK, getting far too maudlin. A nice glass of 5 star Martell's while I watch New Tricks should help.
