Because it is a vast great program that makes life more complicated than it need be. All most people want from a pdf reader is for it tokerrensimmonds wrote:why anti-Acrobat?
1. display pdf files
2. allow you to search them for text
3. allow you to copy out of them.
Foxit does all these things more quickly or more easily than Acrobat, and takes up very much less room on your HD (not that that's much of an issue these days). It also has a bookmarking system to help you retrieve much-used pdf's quickly, and a tabbing system to enable you to navigate quickly between the ones you have open. (These last two can be useful, though I'd put them in the added-bonus category.)
