I do remember him going on about storming Jeffrey Archer's house with amphibious assault vehicles which sounded quite fun...

"Baz " or Basil as he was affectionately known , was in his last year in Lamb B when i joined the house in 1974.
He was always very opinionated and once you met him you would never forget him.
I remember he taught Simon "stan" Brougham and I bridge ( and chess i believe) in that year as he was the school team / champions / grand master ...
Although i cannot remember who his bridge partner was , we had loads of fun at his expense as we always seemed to be dealt brilliant hands and therefore always got the contracts. I don't think "baz" was very happy that two newbies like us had so much luck.
If you do not know much about him , check out his act on You Tube.

I heard him on Woman's Hour a week or two back reading a moving poem in tribute to his mother whom had recently died after suffering from Alzheimers.

I don't mind admitting to listening to Woman's Hour either! It has some excellent features and the daily serial is generally reasonable too. If it gets too "girly," which I have to say is rare, then I'll switch it over to something else.

That's the problem with trying to up-date another web-site - (footy, natch), keep up on here, (one must moderate) both at the same time.

May-be I should have been born with more feminine genes. AFTER ALL It is THEM that reckon they can multi-task ! :axe:

I think the 'them' refers to the fairer ones of us (don't want to use the 's' word in case I incur the wrath of englishangel!!!) and not the grammatical use of the word.
