Dixon of Dock Green.
Jack Warner as the old copper. Resurrected after he was shot by Dirk Bogarde in the film 'The Blue Lamp'

Jack Warner was 59 when D of DG started and 81 when it finishd in 1976

I actually met the wonderful Mr Jack Warner on three occasions. Twice at CH - He had a nephew there. His sisters were Elsie & Doris Walters, (Gert & Daisy). .... and once at a Police Charity 'do' in Surrey, where he recognised me from our previous meetings at CH. A lovely man !!

Incidently, the Dixon series was spawned from the Film, 'The Blue Lamp', where he was shot dead by an up and coming young actor in his first film, Dirk Bogarde !!
