Ruthie-Baby wrote:Why would more retirement housing increase station usage?

In my limited experience, older people are driven places by their children in their children's cars, they do not use trains.

Just think, in 20/50 years time we could be back living at CH... :!: What a scary thought :!:
That's a fair point - but the station is relatively well patronised at rush hour times - any housing woul harldy increase that to be honest...

So what would increase usage outside of rush-hour times?

The bombing of Broadbridge Heath, maybe  :?:

What WAS the film made around the end of the 60's that used C.H. Station for one of the major scenes ? I know, (or think), it was a comedy.

Apparently the station was used during one of the holiday periods.

It was a St Trinian's one - it was just before the 2 branch lines closed apparently...

That sounds interesting. There's not a smiley to show I'm not joking, but I'm not. :x That'll have to do.

Maybe you should post the answer on the Model Railway topic in case any of the posters there are interested :D :?:

I watched it when I was a kid at my Aunt's house and she said it was filmed at CH...

It's one of those useless facts that has stuk in my memory...

Of course.

CH seemed to promote the retention of irrelevancies...
