AArrgghh.. how could you know, Jo, that I had surgery for Carpel Tunnel decompression in December, that it must have gone wrong somehow, because I now have a hand where 2/3 of it has no sensory or motor function. And that's official, and I have a letter of apology from the Consultant. I am due to have an MRI scan next week to determine what it is that 'went wrong'.....and whether anything can be done to alleviate the problems, or whether they are permanent. Trapped nerves. Yes, OK, tell me about them?!

Oops, sorry to touch a nerve there Kerren. I hope they can get you sorted out. I had a MRI scan last week - odd experience, quite relaxing actually. I was falling asleep in there by the end

I remember the flecks of soot which came through the train windows when, as a child, I and my family took our annual train journey from Sussex to South Wales, through the Severn Tunnel! Thanks for your sympathy, Jo.. can you PM me and tell me about your MRI experience? I am beginning to freak..not because 'the tunnel is open at both ends', but I don't know how claustrophobic/close to my face the roof of it will be. They have invited me to take my own CD to listen to (I have to allow one and a half hours) but if I don't, they can provide one. OOhh dear. They know nothing of my taste in music......
