Ah! Now you have it dear boy!darthmaul wrote:The code of the rhyme had me thrown
My youth had not seen this small moan
That the last one must match
The first second, and catch
The pair in a little black gown
But a poet can always destroy
The rhyme to refuse
Whenever he choose
Though others it serves to annoy.

You amaze me young dave by the seaDavebytheSea wrote:Huntertitus you give us the truthhuntertitus wrote:Limericks need always to rhyme
Rhmyme should go all of the time
The third and the fourth
Needn't of cauth(!) (Imagine a lisp Pleathe!)
But the end must do all the syme (Cockney accent please)
About where the rhymes come. So forsooth!
To keep to the letter
I'll try much more better.
But where in the hell is Babe Ruth?
You're so much more poet than me
Babe ruth's in a rage
Cause I rattled her cage
You can find her but not on my knee!

For making our Ruthie angree
Why, I find, as I age,
I love to engage
With a mermaid perched thus on my knee.
And hinted I'd made ladies pale
When cruising the car
She said I'd gone far
With wimmin of th'night and for sale
You know that I'd never do that
And never (on) my knee has she sat
My family demands
My legs and my arms
So there's no hope of fun with young brat
(unfair but I have to put my kids in bed now and have no time to make a perfect poem)
I do vote dave by the sea as the no 1 poet - he is brilliant

Before now I never have seen
So I feel very humble
My thanks I must mumble
Just remember to keep it all clean
Brat's a bit harsh, I feel though...

So serious Helen it's true
You have previously seemed somewhat blue
I hope that my line
Although not very fine
Won't upset you, for I'm still quite new
Yes a poet I never shall make
My rhymes seem to sound rather fake
But this topic has grown
From posts of my own
For lurking, my guilt I'll forsake

CH in the 90s was hell
Each task to be done by the bell
My juniors was worst --
To relate in a verse
Would upset our readers as well
Dining hall food was atrocious
To the point of making us nauseous (sorry, I liked the rhyme!)
So my tuck-locker key
Was a best-friend to me
And most of the time I was stocious
Number 500 in verse!

Ah Ruthie! Your verse is so mellow,Ruthie-Baby wrote:To DaveByTheSea and H Titus
What you write seems to really delight us
To pick up a pen
Was never my yen
But I dream to compete with such writers
So gentle! (Where mine is mere bellow)
Your passion so true
Makes me yearn so for you
Who once wore coat blue and socks yellow.
