CH and slavery

What exactly should people do with their ill-gotten wealth if giving it to charity simply tars that charity with the same brush as them? For example, how big a beneficiary of slavery was the Church of England or Salvation Army or any other well respected pillar of our society?

One example is the emperor who emigrate to his servant nation, Brazil, and resigned!. His family are not allowed to take elected office but the present head of the family is, I am told, highly regarded. Incidentally, some 30 years ago Brazil supplied a huge amount of food and other materials to Nigeria - another country subjugated by power holders.
