After university I didn't have a job, my girlfriend (now my wife) was offered a job in Horsham, so we moved. At the time unemployment in Scotland (where we were living) was high, whereas here it was quite low (this was when Maggie was at the height of her powers).
Now, though, Spoony's post has set me thinking. Perhaps I should ignore Horsham's location, being handy for London (rather useful for those who work in the music business)/South Coast/countryside/Gatwick Airport, its good transport links, the quality of life (markets/shops/restaurants/pubs/relatively low crime and unemployment) and the fact that I have some good friends here, and consider moving to somewhere slightly less 'sad', because someone who may or may not have known me some 30 years ago is still losing sleep over it.
I suppose I could always consider a move to Amersham, as I once saw a 'legs and bum' picture (cor!!!) posted on the internet by a lady who lives there.
