Lord Mayor's Show
Hope one and all watched the LM show this morning long enough to see the Housey band bringing up the rear.

I watched on iPlayer this evening - best coverage I`ve seen since we arrived at CH 12 years ago!

I remembered about it yesterday, but forgot to record it this morning.

Re: Lord Mayor's Show
I am trying to download it onto iPlayer but as my pc is as old and creaky as I am on a Sunday morning it is taking nearly as long to download as to watch it.

Re: Lord Mayor's Show
told daughter (who used to be in Band) to watch it on iPlayer - she did so whilst on the phone to me and her squeals of delight must have deafened the whole of Durham, if not the whole of the North East!

"Bringing up the rear" --- ?
I thought the CH Band, always led the Lord Mayor's Procession, when he joined the parade.
Have things changed ?
The last LMS I watched, the Band definately led HIS Procession.

In the mid eighties CH led the whole procession, just behind the police horses who were clearing the route (my son was drum major).

In the 90's we led the parade behind the horses (and trying, without much success to miss their additions to the road...)
