I don't need thanks. I am desperate for news each day as she's a close friend of mine and I am very fond of Louise. If I can then pass on the information to you all it's a bonus. Michele has asked me to keep you all updated as she knows how concerned you all are.sejintenej wrote:Just to record my personal thanks for what you are doing to get and pass on information about Louise. Like others I log in many times a day just to see the latest news.

It`s wonderful that you`re able to keep us posted, B, Michele`s got enough to worry about without having to find time to do so.
I DO hope there`ll be much better news in the next day or so.
Children have an uncanny knack of bouncing back fairly quickly aftre illness - let`s hope Louise does too.

Have added them both to the private prayer list at my local church. I'm glad to hear that things seem to be going in the right direction. You're right about this being a community - M. and others have seen me through some difficult times in the past; tho it was nothing near as bad as this, people's support really helped. We do all get to know each other at some level and we become important to each other.

Re: Swine flu - school closing for a week
It certainly helped me through a difficult patch a couple of years ago. I wasn't on the forum at that point unfortunately, but I'm sure everyone would have been just as supportive on here. I think its amazing how CH instils a sense of community in everyone it affects, even when they do not necessarily know each other. It is a real testament to the school that in situations like this, everyone will come together to support each other. (That sounds increadibly cheesey I know, but I feel it had to be said)Fjgrogan wrote:I wonder if that Facebook thingy has the same sense of togetherness in a time of need?!

Yes, well said Sally. We are all rooting for Michele and Louise because- even if we do not know them personally - they belong to a community in which we are passionately involved.
Re your Facebook request for help with the next assignment.....I looked at your photos and found myself more interested in the difference caused by the outfits you were wearing, than the makeup...................sorry! I decided not to participate as I could have distorted the outcome of your research! Good luck.

I've been checking since just after 8 am & Barnes Mum's been logged on but presumably she hasn't heard anything yet.

Re: Swine flu - school closing for a week
Yes I'm here, just wrote a whole message then lost the lot so here goes again!
There's still not much change today I'm afraid. The doctors were worried about some fluid surrounding her lungs this morning that they thought was becoming infected. There was talk of this having to be drained, and they are going to make a decision about this later. She also had another chest x-ray today, this was still not very good at all but did show a very slight improvement on the last one. Any improvement is still improvement in my book, so let's think positive and hope this improvement continues. The physio has been to see her again today, she came for the first time yesterday to try and give Lou some breathing exercises to do, unfortunately she couldn't really manage them. Today they had her sitting up in a chair for a while.
Michele has just this minute text me to ask me to say "Thank you all for everything!" for her.

Re: Swine flu - school closing for a week
Thank you so much for updating us Barnes Mum; I too have been desperate for news on Louise.
That poor little soul has been through so much - I can't believe it's only been a week since we were told the school was closing. As you say Barnes Mum, any improvement however small is good news, so I'm definitely looking on that as a positive and once again will be praying for more improvement by tomorrow.
Our whole family are thinking of them so would you please send our love when you speak to her next.
xx

Love and prayers continuing here - when do the other children go back to school?

They're due to go back on Sunday evening.
This weekend would have been a leave weekend anyway but we've been told that they cannot go back before 4pm and should be back by 8.30pm which would be as normal after a leave weekend.

The School being "deep cleansed"! I wonder what that involves?

A LOT of antibacterial cleaning of all surfaces including door handles etc. etc. etc. I bet it's a nightmare, involves a lot of people wearing masks and gloves and costs a lot of money.
In the meantime, yes, from me too, positive thoughts and prayers for Louise and Michele, who I have asked to be put on our church prayerlist. The positive vibes come also from all other non-OB people, at work, to whom I have spoken of the predicament. I have been asked to keep THEM informed, as well. What a huge web of support is building up - I pray that all this concern will prove to be effective and that Louise really will take a turn for the better, very soon.

If Swine Flu is caused by a virus, how will deep cleaning with anti-bacterials help?
Positive thoughts and prayers from here too
