Re: POOR OLD BELGIUM...CHOP IT UP?
it was the first time I ate chips with salad cream/mayonnaise. Me too, and I have had mayo with my chips every time since! Going off on a tangent, I was in France recently and I asked for some vinegar with my chips and they looked at me as if I was crazy...then upon asking other people it became ap...

Re: Any Senior Grecians or School Monitors out there
I wasn't an SG or a school monitor, although on our year, those that were nearly a school monitor (such as myself apparently!) were written a letter by the head saying basically - well done, but you weren't quite good enough... to be honest, I would have rather not known... I got a correspondence l...

Re: What the chuffin' 'eck is this?
Reminds me perhaps unfortunately of my 4 year-old cousin! My uncle, Bangkok resident of 20 years, gets extremely stressed on a daily basis by the maniacal driving. When someone cut him up or pushed into a non-existant gap in front of him or threatened to wipe him out, he sometimes used to exclaim &q...

Predictive text curiosities
The predicitive text on my mobile (which I have found no way of disactivating in 2 and a half years of owning it) often comes up with bizarre and amusing variations of what I want to write. For some reason, it has an excellent geographical knowledge of Russia, India and China, amongst others. If i w...

According to the article, £100,000 in debt...if that is true, I would certainly go on the public speaking circuit, à la Mrs. Blair - they could earn it all back in an hour!

That wordsearch was rather scrambled! It was game 'ova'. Though I'm not a yokle so a couple of the words weren't so familiar.
HENce, it was amusing to see the important priorities of the UDSA Farm Service Agency.

Re: Food glorious food
Several of the places have lacked a particular fundamental component but I have been easily able to work around it up until now: when there was no oven, I learned to cook . Yolking apart, Thomas, this is the statement that puzzles me most! It's just that I used to use the oven absolutely all the ti...

Re: ALT+ for accents
Tom, is this any easier? (Laptops: the numeric keypad is usually activated by the Function key. It transforms J,K,L into 1,2,3, etc.) Just a thought, but it might be even easier to copy them all onto a word doc which you can have open and copy/paste when you need to. The site is well worth a visit,...

Banned here too!
For some mysterious reason, a closer look at this ebay item is blocked to German internet addresses. Can anyone tell me why? (The usual reason is that there's a swastika around somewhere, public displays of swastikas being forbidden in Germany.) I've just tried looking at it - and it's blocked in I...
