No, the adjective has an "i" in it, but will he take the baited hook?
I don't think it does? Surely "bated breath" is correct?

Re: Fairport Convention auditioning drummer circa 1967 ?

No mention of the person you seek, but there is a reference to the fatal car-crash ! http://www.fairportconvention.com/the_liege_and_lief_story.php Thanks for the link. There is more elsewhere on the site. Here is Simon Nicol's eye witness account of the crash, showing just how devastating an accid...

Re: MP3 players - advice needed please!

Aplologies if I upset people here, but I strongly believe that mp3 players should be legally banned for drivers and cyclists and any other road users; how can anyone using one concentrate and be properly aware of the traffic? Well you haven't upset me, but I'd hate to live in the sort of country wh...

Re: MP3 players - advice needed please!

The iPod Shuffle has a 2GB capacity. If you need more, then the Nano comes in 8 and 16 GB versions. All can handle music, as well as podcasts and audiobooks. Indeed - my iPod shuffle currently has 151 songs and 17.9 hours of music - enough for even the slowest circuit of the Mile! Good point about ...

Re: New blog on Christ's Hospital

I'd like to apologise for taking this important thread off topic with my quest for geographical accuracy. I have to say, and I don't know if it's a factor of the time which has passed, but I really don't have any significant recollections of bullying from my time at CH, back in the late 60s / early ...

Standards would seem to be slipping. If that had happened in my day there would have been a quick clip round the ear delivered to the nearest boy in the group.

This may have had something to do with the fact that I was from Pre-War Stockwell SE9 !
Not wishing to rain on your parade, but since when was Stockwell in SE9?

Re: Col A photos 1970's

Forgive a first-time poster's infelicities, but I may be able to fill in a few missing names from the photos. As far as I can recall, Col A 1975 shows: Mark Wyatt, Peter Boys, Nigel Harrison, ?, Jeremy Olver, Andrew Ashe, Iain (?) Weatherill Tony Clifford, Chris Laughton, (Is it) Chris Grady? , Mik...

Tall man, I seem to remember him walking with a bit of a stoop as he was so tall and spent a lot of time bending to speak. JM Carrington - he was a housemaster I think. Thornton A, perhaps?

Re: Bob Crawshaw's Photo's

Bob, you must have been in Maine A two years below my dad, Howard Holdsworth... I remember going to tea with Howard Holdsworth and his family at their home before I started at CH - the visit was arranged by my primary school head to give me the chance to ask Howard what CH was like. I remember him ...

You ask if it's Gareth Balle in picture 3 - I'm not sure, but it is definitely Andrew Fort who is in the headlock.
