Re: Beware of friends bearing flowers

Seeing as Shoz has shown his face again (at long last -= welcome back and don't make it so long next time) a word of warning about bouquets which concerns him and other feline lovers Don't give lilies or a bunch of flowers containing lilies to anyone who has a cat. All parts of virtually all lilies...

I have to agree! I recently saw him at the MEN Arena in Manchester and he was terrific. 5 encores with a stunning version of Mrs Robinson and an acoustic solo of Homeward Bound. As a bonus everyone on leaving the venue was given a free cd too. Someone told me that he composed Homeward Bound whilst ...

Oh I remember now - "Sounds of Silence", Mrs Robinson etc. Was that the same Simon? How was I to know? What happened to Gar Funkel? I think you have everyone mixed up here! Simon and Garfunkel wrote some of the music for the sound track of the film The Graduate, a film starring Dustin Hof...

It's difficult to go wrong in Scotland really. As someone said, once past the cities, Glasgow and Edinburgh you will have miles and miles of beautiful roads, mainly to yourself. I often visit Scotland at various times of the year and there is nothing better than driving along those scenic roads with...

Likewise for my primary school. Only 6 teachers plus the headmaster and I can still remember all their names.

I am not sure if the cat is post-ironic, but if it isn't make sure it is not around for viewings, some people are allergic. Ditto even more so if you have a dog. Get an unbiased friend to have sniff to say if you have any 'odd' smells. I always make sure the cat is well away for any viewings and I ...

Many thanks to all who replied; some very good and valid points that I will note. We did spend a lot of time and money (too much I think, really) decorating the inside of the house in more neutral colours and having the front and rear gardens landscaped. All gutterings, soffits and drains have been ...

Any tips on selling a house?

I have put my house on the market with very limited success so far. I don't suppose the recent interest rate rise has helped any and the estate agent says that school holidays are traditionally quiet. I have had two viewings via the agent and one 'drive by' viewing. One couple loved the house but th...

Is this pc gone mad...?

Is it right to ban things like scenes of Tom and Jerry smoking? I know there was a time when the pc brigade said they were too violent, it seems...here we go again!

I remember JFK but was too young to be really bothered about it. I was at home waiting for the new series of Dr Who to start on the BBC. It was delayed because of the assassination. 911 I was in Universal Studios in Orlando with my wife, daughter and her boyfriend. The park was immediately closed an...
