Re: Bishop Ball documentary BBC2 2100 TONIGHT
Well I watched it yesterday, and loads of issues running round my head - again I emphasise that I was lucky and never suffered from him or others at CH so cannot even start to view it from the perspectives of those who suffered. But a couple of points: Well done (with a note of sarcasm) to whomever ...

Re: Bishop Ball documentary BBC2 2100 TONIGHT
Haven’t watched it yet, and in two minds whether to or not. I did not experience anything untoward with him, but he did my confirmation in the school chapel.

I think they were all part of the Saracens Academy, who sponsored their place at St George’s, IIRC Harrow had a similar arrangement with Wasps until they moved to Coventry.

Re: Letter to Head Master
I don't think there is any secret that Scouts were led by JDS (as they always were) with Ian Torkington in attendance. I am pretty certain Goodall was there helping as well as Hywel Bennett (an older chap in his mid twenties, Old Blue and ex Scout, worked for the BBC in Cardiff), Burr and Webb on th...

Re: Letter to Head Master
Going back to Burr’s boat, the only time I ever was aware of Burr (I don’t think I actually met him) was him bringing The Empress of Blandings to moor next to Scout summer camp near Bosworth; it would have been July 84, end of my third form, and was memorable to me as Webb also turned up despite lea...

Re: Dates of birth of convicted abusers
Husband committed very serious offences against one person Max, I recently met up with some of our contemporaries, and was frankly shocked by some comments on Husbands behaviour with girls on our year and above. He has been convicted for his actions against one girl, who I don’t believe is the same...

Re: Hammer blows to CH finances
I am just a little surprised that threat outlined in this thread - which could significantly undermine CH's ability to fulfil its mission - surely a concern to us all? - hasn't attracted any posts beyond comments on the pension system in general or people's own pensions. Tim I don't underestimate t...
