All About Horsham magazine, CH article!

I thought I would post a link to the above. Its a pretty good little article about the school with some great piccies. There are two versions of the article, one is text only and the other is embedded within an online copy of the magazine. The latter is obviously the better version and to view this ...

Re: The Blue

I was very excited about getting our first 'The Blue' as new parents we'd spent a lot of time flicking through the online versions of the back copies once we knew our DD had got in. In that lull between finding out she'd got in and her actually going the magazine made the whole experience seem a lit...

Re: 2012 Admissions Thread

Yes ours was an A4 envelope which was reasonably thick, however don't count on this being a definitive clue as to whether your son has passed or not as we've never seen how thick or not a rejection letter is and indeed they may well choose not to send out all the documents in one go this year. The o...

Re: 2012 Admissions Thread

We got ours on the 11th Feb. I'd heard in the morning that a friend of a friend who's child had applied had received their acceptance letter. So I booked the afternoon off work so I could pop home and see if DD's had arrived. It had so we met her at school and let her re-open the envelope with her s...

Re: 2012 Admissions Thread

My DD is helping out at her house as well, I can't believe that this time last year we were going through the stress of preparing for the residential. At decent blanket is a great idea as is a pair of slippers if your DS/DD wear them that is, the house floors are chilly and not carpeted throughout! ...

Re: OBD 2012

Hi

My DD is a current pupil, and alas I'm not an OB but as a local I thought I'd let you know that there is a recently opened Travelodge smack bang in the centre of Horsham and of course there is a Premier Inn near Horsham Station.

Hope this is of help.

Re: New book - murder mystery set at CH!

I've just come across this thread ans was wondering if you still have some books in stock? My DD is in the second form and I think this would make a cool stocking filler!

Re: Initial Assessment

Pass on my congrats to your DS, passing each stage is a great achievement and I hope the two day assessment goes well. My wife and I are local and if you fancy a chat with parents of a current 2nd former, who are happy to discuss the pro's and cons we've experienced, then pm us closer to the time an...

Re: Initial Assessment

I'm sorry to hear about the kids who didn't make it this time and I'm pleased for those who have, good luck for the assessment weekend in January. I agree with all of the wonderful comments of support and can't really add to them as they say it all. I'm sure your children will do brilliantly at what...

Re: birthdays

I feel a bit rotten reading all these posts as, much as I might want to, I just can't afford a birthday visit to my child, or treats for their friends or house. I remember, when they first started at CH and a matron cheerfully suggested that it was always fine if I wanted to come up to school at we...

Re: birthdays

It's my DD's birthday on the 17th, we are fortunate enough to live a stones throw away. We thought we would drop a birthday cake round to the house despite them coming home the next day, in fact she's placed her order already. I also thought it might be nice to get some doughnuts or the like for the...

Re: January Residential Assessment

My dd started this September and I remember quite well what your family are going through now. There is another thread on here entitled initial assessment I think, and in that thread it has been said that letters should start going out week commencing the 7th Nov, so you don't have much longer to wa...

Re: Has all of your sports kit arrived yet?

Just an update on our situation with outstanding kit. I email DD's house parent yesterday and spoke with her today. By happy coincidence the remaining items turned up at school yesterday. It seems that any outstanding items are going straight to the pupil so it may be worth checking with your DD/DS ...

Re: Has all of your sports kit arrived yet?

It's a good idea topping up via the thrift shop but I have to say that a grandparent paid for these items as a, I'm trying to avoid the word present, token of how proud they were of the DD getting in to CH so it feels inappropriate to cancel the order and request a refund. I'm somewhat relieved that...

Has all of your sports kit arrived yet?

Hi all Some of our DD's sports kit still hasn't arrived from the suppliers. We initially received some of the kit during the summer holidays ready for the new term but were informed that some items were out of stock and that we would receive the 3 polo neck t shirts and the skort at a later date. Wh...
