It seems to me to be a great shame if the dayrooms are to be abandoned. Where do the juniors go for time with friends, 'playing' and prep? And where does the house gather together? - do you still have roll calls after tea, or house meetings etc?

the juniors congregate on Back Ash, unfortunately ...

I'm not sure of the rules regarding old blues day... (shameful) but I don't see why you shouldn't see a boarding house. Middleton is the only one left unscathed...

The far staircase, (emergency staircase) was out of bounds except to monitors and for use in the case of emergency.

As far as talking ...

Bedrooms. theres loads more single rooms in the new houses, and a kitchen/tv room where the common rooms used to be, towards the back of house.

Not sure... They were in the process of updating the Col A one when I moved out.
I don't doubt that the houses seriously need doing up, just annoyed that they had to get rid of the individuality etc. The earlier ones (Lamb, Peele, LH) don't have dayrooms any more, and they're all refitted to ...

Does anybody else seriosly disapprove of what's happening to the avenue houses?
I'm told that It's necessary under 'Health and safety' (can't stay in a padded box forever though) but can't they do it without stripping the houses of their individuality and turning them into identical whitewashed ...
