The Charity Commission website is a goldmine of information about the school:

The accounts tell you who by and how the school is governed. The income and expenditure is set out, together with details of the assets.

I wonder if the Charity Commission is a suitable avenue for approach and reproach for the School? They probably take a dim view of institutional child abuse, however historical.

I have no idea. It looks as if it was amalgamated with another charity, although they aren’t named. Really odd.

James Harrison Relief in Need, etc, etc
It sounds like one of many funds set up through the centuries relating to C.H.
I know just the chap to ask, so leave it to me and I will report back.

John Harrison fund.
Ho, hum - I was wrong. I am assured by a most reliable source that it had nothing to do with Christ's Hospital, but was for the poor of Ware,

Ware was one of the places, along with Hoddesdon and Hertford where the young children went from London, at one stage in our history. So perhaps it does have a tangential connection.

Katherine,
You could be right. My historical adviser is having second thoughts. Watch this space,
