Is it beyond the realms of another male* organisation with secrets?

* I encountered a huge gathering of female Freemasons in Birmingham at a hotel by the NEC, but in the main it’s a club run by men for the benefit of themselves.

White men? Old white men? Come on, don't stint on the cliches.

....and another question that bothers me.

Given all the fancy dress involved, are there Lodges/Chapters within the K-K-K in the jolly old US ?

I think you are giving the power of Freemasons too much credit.

Although RDS is a Mason, I don’t think Poulton was. I think Poulton was a member of the tiddlywinks club, so maybe we should look at them and the link between playing tiddlywinks and covering up abuse?? Was Husband , Dobbie or any others members of the tiddlywinks club? I think that is a line of inquiry.

Bluntly, masons is about charity and enjoying a good dinner and drinking.

Also, I am reliably informed that NONE of the convicted criminals are Freemasons.

Old white men are to blame for 90% of what’s wrong with society, it’s a cliche for a reason.

As an organisation they require a belief in a god - it doesn't matter which one
I understand that this was a requirement of congressmen and senators so that they would know that whatever their hidden deeds in this life they would face an allknowing judge at their end.

What a pity the present shower don't follow that

Sadly there are paedophiles in every walk of life.

A Google search will tell you that there have been freemasons who are paedophiles, but there are many masons who are not.

You just cannot tell who is and who isn't a paedophile.

".....anyone who seeks in any way to threaten the reputation of the church and institution has to be destroyed”.

Sound familiar?

On Freemasons, I think its telling that some of the legal guys on here have been approached to join, and someone said they would have joined if they had gone into the police. Nobody wants a low ranking civil servant though.

Maybe Burr, Webb, Karim, Husband and Dobbie were all Orangemen. They don't wear bowler hats all the time, you know.

The dead are to blame for 95% of what's wrong with society... Most of them used to be old white men. But the overwhelming thing they had in common was that they were rich.
