I think this is the Roger Martin who taught Latin and was housemaster of Barnes A (when it was a boys' junior house) during the late 1970's /early 1980's. Late 40's age in the mid-1980's would seem to fit with the age profile in the police report and my memories.

He was known as Dodger if I remember correctly (as in Roger the..)

1965 surely?

If he’s currently 82 he would only have been 19 in 1955.

He is an Old Blue who left in 1955.
He returned to teach and be assistant house master of Prep A in 1963.
After a couple of years he went to Strahe School in Kenya and then returned to CH a couple of years later.

Sorry, misunderstood. That makes sense.

My fault - I was replying to posts without quoting so it got very disjointed.

I am going to lock this topic for now.
Right to bring it to the Forum’s attention, and in would like to encourage anyone with any information (whether related or otherwise) to contact the police directly.

I too felt RM was an excellent caring teacher for what it’s worth, but what do any of us know, unless we’ve our own allegation to make. I'm keen that the courts are left to make their judgements unhindered, and also that reports are made directly to the police, avoiding any perception of collusion or influence from the Forum.

Hope that’s ok with everyone - trying to tread a fine line here.
