"Official" Parents' Forum
Has anyone been able to access the Parents' Forum on the new "School like no other" website? I just cannot work out how to do it! Keeps telling me to go to a security site but the link doesn't seem to work! Help!
Re: "Official" Parents' Forum
I had the same problem, but to be honest when I logged on prior to the changes there was hardly anything on there so I just use this one

Re: "Official" Parents' Forum
I have just managed to log onto the official Parents' Forum, but the only discussion currently on there is a thread with a few people asking why all the previous discussions have vanished!
I notice that there's also a link on the new website to a Parents' Portal, but there's nothing on that yet either...

How did you log on? I can't seem to do it. Is the username and password they sent us relevant on the new website? Can't follow the link to the security site either! All rather irritating.............

I clicked on the 'Current Parent' link at the top of the home page, then selected 'Parent Forum' from the menu on the right hand side of the page, then signed in using the username and password supplied by the school. I've just tried this again and it works for me. It's just irritating that there's no longer anything on the Forum when you finally get to it!!How did you log on? I can't seem to do it. Very strange, it now works! Didn't do anything differently either. But you're right, there's nothing on it!

I got details of how to log on to it with the starter pack and did so, but there was nothing on it worth looking at. I guess everyone is on here.

Re: "Official" Parents' Forum
Unfortunately sounds like the school have missed a trick there.
It's really difficult to get a critical-mass on a discussion forum - it takes a lot of time and effort - but once it's got that then it has a momentum and life of its own.
To then lose all the old topics sets you back to the start, and potentially even further back - irritating any regular users through losing their posts.
I'm glad the CH Forum is serving a purpose for parents - I'd never identified parents as an audience when I started it, but seems obvious now!
Parents are some of the school's strongest advocates (and my mum is still!) - they see the benefits to their children, often more than the kids themselves - so parents are a largely untapped PR service which the school should make the most of, and keep on side in every way possible!

Re: "Official" Parents' Forum
It's very sad that the school's own forum hasn't really taken off, and as already said, going back to square one with it isn't going to help. But I suspect the reason it's not used is precisely because it is part of the schools own website. I imagine people are happier to post here, with less fear of getting themselves, or their children into trouble.

Yes, but still, they are perusing an unofficial site.

True, then why would they 'peruse' it ?
