This thread was triggered by Munch's comment that we were allowed cameras at Hertford, one of the few personal items were were allowed.
In 2's when Mrs Winstone was housemistress we were only allowed to take 3 books from home and they had to be passed by 'Fanny' as suitable reading. I still have my copy of 'The Lion, the witch and the Wardrobe' with EJW inside.
I'll bet Barbara remembers this, did it happen in any other house, or at Horsham?
And just how did Gill get 'Here we go round the Mulberry Bush' through, as a book of singing rhymes?
