just a suggestion - if Helen is unhappy with her contributions to the thread, could not the thread be reinstated with just her original authorship and contributions removed?
We are talking about intellectual property here, and there is no doubt that this is "owned" by the individual author of each posting rather than the originator of the thread. The thread itself is common property though we all tacitly agree, when contributing, to submit to the editorship of the Moderator.

SORRY!!!
I seem to have stirred up a hornets nest asking that question!
I had a couple of (bad) limericks on there too and was contemplating adding another.
Hopefully Julian can get it back if needed so no harm done.
It does seem a bit strange though that the creator of a thread can determine what happens to it. I know in this instance Helen was a major contributor but so was Davebythesea and there were others too so surely their views are valid assuming, as in this case, the initial offerings pass the scrutiny of the moderators?

But can someone advise
If removal was wise
When the writer retains copyright?
Your limerick here is so apt
That my poetic muse is unwrapped
A new thread might flow
From our musings, and go
To a place where it cannot be zapped.

That we may never curse
Our loss of rhyme
Which may in time
Improve (and not get worse).

I suggest a new thread "limericks reborn" to include all forms of versification mainly but not exclusively with a hint of Housie. Poems and limericks of all sorts here with prose footnotes allowed. A selection from the earlier thread could be included.
The more I think about this, the more I feel that there may be a good argument for having a new Creative Writing section of the forum. This could well be helpful for John when gleaning for his creative writing bit in the Old Blue. This section could include a poetry thread as above, but also, perhaps, another thread for longer prose articles of general interest to Blues Old and Young as well as the for the YOBS among whom the creative energy flows most strongly.

I guess the initial invitation for lymericks came from Helen - and hence it's sort of reasonable.
I was in too minds, and to be honest didn't have much time to question it or trim-out the topic - would have taken a while to explain why certain posts were missing etc. and didn't want to have to do that at the time - hence, as Helen was the driving-force behind the topic, I felt it was reasonable that it be removed if she requested it.
I've messaged her to ask if she'd be happy to have it reinstated, as people are missing it, either as a complete topic or with anything removed if requested.....
