I am not sure that there has been any research into it but one of the stereotypes of sexual abuse is that those who have been abused themselves become abusers.

Like all stereotypes or myth - eg someone who doesn't struggle can't have been raped or a person who doesn't complain immediately can't have been raped. A judge will tell a jury that there is no typical rapist and no typical victim. That is based on experience and research.
