Is it not only three years since the entire kitchen block was stripped out and totally re-equipped?
Glad to see that the school is awash with money for such grandiose plans!

That's what I was thinking, but maybe it's something to do with health laws and Envirmental Health issues.

From a post by Matthew Holdsworth on Facebook: ... the kitchens have not been used since around 2008 as they were 'life expired' and since that time the kitchens have been a huge portacabin in approximately the location of the Deps club next to Coleridge.

OK, I was mistaken. Several times when I passed that huge Portacabin it was described to me as being temporary while the old kitchens were being rebuilt - which I assumed to be a work in progress. Obviously 'temporary' is a somewhat elastic expression.
I shudder to think what a totally new building of the size and scope illustrated, containing, inter alia, a state-of-the-art kitchen to feed 1,000 will cost!
