Foundation Hymn- Blue CD on YouTube

Thought I'd upload this for easy access! And that I'd share it with you guys in case you wanted it.
If anyone has a problem with this being online, let me know and I'll take it down. I presume that it will be okay.

As a parent I have not yet been able to witness this being sung in the Chapel. However just listening to the recording is very moving. I think it is great to have it on you tube and the pics accompany it well.

It is always very moving to hear it.
Can any one identify when the photo of the interior of the chapel was taken. Before th girls came to Horsham I think.

An old recording by the BBC of the Foundation hymn (and others) in chapel. Re: Foundation Hymn- Blue CD on YouTube
That might have been the date it was published, but that would have been during the Christmas holidays, so I suppose it dates from a little earlier. I think we can safely say it was taken during a (Saturday morning) Chapel Practice, as there appear to be no masters present, apart from a chaplain.

Haven't got the leaving hymn have you? Sung by CH?
Watching this put me in mind of it, but the only version on YouTube is dire - to put it politely.

Re: Foundation Hymn- Blue CD on YouTube
I have a good sound recording of it from the CD. PM me or telephone if you want it, but don't expect an imminent response - up to the eyeballs in proofing the Blue at the moment.

Crikey, it's one of my favourite hymns of all time and you're right, that version is dire. So dire that I couldn't recognise it and had to cut it off half way through! Please someone find a real CH version.yamaha wrote:Haven't got the leaving hymn have you? Sung by CH?

Re: Foundation Hymn- Blue CD on YouTube
Thanks very much for that, certainly a lot better than the other version!! Actually, it never fails to bring a lump to my throat, and it's always been my favourite hymn (must have been the emotionally charged reception of it during 8 years, seeing friends leave who you felt you would probably never see again. Oh, I'm getting teary again!)
Next question, who wrote it (somebody Laing?) as I must get it for my funeral!
