Sentencing of Garry William Dobbie

Any ideas on when this will occur. It is a matter of public record that other allegations are being investigated, and this is the reason for the delay. Although whether it will be delayed until these new matters are concluded is another matter.

This question is really one for Richardb, though my view is that the DPP will wait until the police have finished and passed over their 'ongoing enquires', then decide on the way forward.

You could possibly try calling the clerk to Eloise Marshall at 23 Essex Street to ask if she will be prosecuting once more. If yes, they may have a rough idea of timeline, they may not. They may not tell you anything. Otherwise it is a waiting game.

I can't honestly see Ms. Marshall making any comment to a mere member of the public, but it might be worth a try if anyone wants to give it a go.

Me neither, and I wouldn't even try to speak to her but her clerk might be able indicate (roughly) when they were expecting the next trial to happen.

Dobbie can't be sentenced yet as there are two more pending prosecutions against him (that is two more victims so perhaps more than two counts/ charges).

The courts will hold on sentencing based on whether the other charges pending are brought to court by the CPS.

There may be further charges raised against Burr. These would be dealt with separately and receive a further sentence. It will depend on whether the CPS consider it is worth pursuing the additional charges or let them 'lay on file' as he pleaded not guilty to certain other charges.

Hope that this helps.

Rob

Thanks Rob.

I think we will have to wait quite a time now.

No word from Richardb for a week now. Maybe he's on hols.

http://www.thelawpages.com/court-hearings- lists/Lewes-Crown-Court.php. Gary Dobbie T20170536 back in court 4 Sept 2018. Causelist ...

Can anyone confirm the veracity of this Google search result?

Returns nothing and it's not possible to go back that far on the court listings page, unless it refers to court 4 instead of September 4th

If you mean this then it appears there was some sort of hearing on 4 September but I can find no further info beyond that:

It's a case of wait and see I'm afraid Chas.

Police forces today are and have to be meticulous. I'm told more is going on behind the scenes.

p.s. March 2019 is one month to watch and I'm not talking Brexit.

Richardb would probably be the best person to ask, but he is taking a break from here for the time being.
