Interesting point. So who in my day would have overseen the operation of corporal punishment ?. No-one.

I did ask the 'School' several years ago, if they had access to the old House punishment books that had to be kept by Housemasters, especially in regard to corporal punishment. Guess what - Aparrently not. I was just interested to read report of my two canings in Coleridge B.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not anti- corporal, or capital punishment for that matter, but isn't it strange how historical records can evaporate when it suits or become necessary ?
John Rutley. Prep B & Coleridge B. 1958-1963.

A lot of the school's records have apparently gone missing.

Convenient. Very convenient.

If your most earnest desire was to beat boys' bottoms, a schoolmaster you would be.

Avon: it won't have the same moral impact but can I suggest that you might get 300 quid for it on Amazon or eBay.
