Leigh Hunt win the Rugby Cup Ties 1991 - poster...

Post by jtaylor »

As mentioned in another post, this was a cracking match, won in the last seconds of extra time by Leigh Hunt with a drop goal from Bradley Quirk...very World Cupesque!

Having won it in the last year as a boys house, it could be said that we never lost it, and still hold it...

Finally found the poster, which was knocked-up to advertise the match, whilst browsing through some old files so thought I'd post it!

I sooo remember this... I was in LHB on the Third Form and remember watching the match as I had taken a shine to one of the team members :-) Julian, do you have any pics of the LHB/LHA annual tug-of-war? Do they still do this or am I so out of touch that I don't know that LHB/LHA don't even exist anymore ha ha!

The headline
"Wanted for rape and pillage"
only goes to show how differently things were viewed back then - even in the 1990s.
The past is another country.
You wouldn't post that message now, Julian.

Back in 2005 I did - but it’s a document of record I guess...

So even 2005 is another country. Before your site started.
Food for thought.
