Bear in mind that when a governor has been chosen to represent a 'corporate body' (like the BSB or the Hertford Old Blues) the governor has probably contributed a lesser sum to the overall 'pot' than would be expected of an individual Donation Governor, and may not be a particularly wealthy person in their own right. My daughter's BSB governor would certainly not have had much money to spare to contribute to her fees - she had had a son at CH who had died young - but she always showed great interest in my daughter's welfare and progress at school, and as she lived nearby used to regularly invite us to tea during school holidays. In many ways that was worth more than just money. Kerren is in a similar role, in that she represents all those who have contributed to the Hertford Old Girls' Fund - or whatever it is called.

I think it's a really nice thing to do and our son's governor is absolutely lovely.
