hot breakfasts
Obviously dropped off since my time. We had a hot breakfast every day.
Deep fried bread, which we spread marmalade on!!
Powdered scrambled egg.
Boiled egg.
Bacon (the fattiest they could find I think)
And drinking tea out of bowls!!

Kippers!
Englishangel....how could you forget Kippers for breakfast!!
Few girls( of which I was one) liked them ....swimming around as they did in that yellow oily liquid ,encased in crispy armour plated skin.
They were bonier than any other unfilleted fish known to mankind, and eating them was a major archeological project.

aaahhh, kippers, I liked them, I still do. Kippers sandwiched between a couple of slices of brown bread.
