I see that you've mentioned this a couple of times. Can I ask what problems did Facebook cause for you?

John caught a nasty virus from Facebook. I just consider it a huge waste of time - I am aware that both my daughters spend a lot of time on Facebook, and I figure that if there is anything of interest to me on there one or other of the girls will let me know. I know that I am not good at resisting the urge to waste time on the computer; I did succeed in giving up Freecell for the whole of Lent but have now started drifting back to it.

Well - I went last year and met only two people I knew, both from my older daughter's time. I really enjoyed watching my granddaughter's reaction to the band, and having all that space to run about in (she was about 18 months at the time). I made a point of introducing myself to Neill the Notorious, who promptly forgot who I was (understandable at his age!). I am aware that later this year I shall qualify for the 50+ reunion and there is perhaps more chance of meeting my contemporaries at that - or more probably next year because I left in the LVI so most of my year might be there then. However, I have the option of transport for Old Blues' Day and probably not for the Reunion. Much as I enjoyed last year, it does involve an awful lot of walking, which I am not good at. Also I am recovering from a cold/flu thing and am still very deaf which makes life difficult just now. So it is a tough decision. No fun getting old, is it?!

Thanks Frances.

Very true.

In the space of 24 hours, someone, supposedly in the Bishops Stortford area, according to my internet-copper, managed to enbed a virus deep on our HD. This managed to evade TWO very good anti-viral systems.

It seems that Facebook are aware that people are managing to hack through their site and as fast as they combat it, the little b@stards manage to find another way.

Hope this helps.

cathy - you do have to be invited but you should be able to request an invite.... if you are friends with any other Old Girls from teh right time on facebook they may well already be in the group... I think that's how it works.. I was invited by Alison nee Maclagan and I invited Juliana nee Matthews!

I can't open Fb at the moment, so this is from a rather dodgy memory:
top right hand of the screen, there is a Friend Request button, or something similar. Click and wait :)
