Hello Louise
I can try to scan the cards (I think there are two, maybe three, different views) but I am not sure about the badge. It's not very big.. just a small crest in a navy blue background in a ring of gold. Not sure that scanning that would be effective.. and I am sure to get it out of focus if I try and photograph it! At the weekend, when I have got a bit more time, I will have a play around...
Kerren
(PS I presume you mean the 'new' postcards of the views of Hertford, not the 1929 sepia one of the gym which has been 'postally used' by the Headmistress of the time?)

Anything you've got that you think might be of general interest would be great, Kerren! Both sides of the Founder's Day card would be a great asset as it documents one of the traditions of Hertford.
Actually, if anyone has any other cards or similar from Hertford that they think should be saved for posterity, do send it to me digitally (to webeditor@chassociation.org) and I'll see about getting it up on the site.
If you have something you absolutely can't scan or photograph* email me and we'll see if we can work something out.
*It's best to photograph items in natural light but not direct sunlight (near a window or outside works well) and without the flash if at all possible!

Thanks to Kerren some more postcards (scroll down to the bottom of the page) have now been added.
Can anyone shed any light on Hilda Gibbs' return?!

The playground picture must have been quite late on because certainly when I left (1972) we wore fawn ankle socks in the summer, not long white ones.
The only other thing I can think is that it is during the holidays as I don't think anyone wore turquoise tops.

These postcards are a very charming snapshot of life at Hertford under Norah Craig's (tender) care.

I enjoyed the 20s postcards very much!
The Gym.. remember it's weird smell? It came right back to me.
I was rather struck by the cheery "voice" of Norah Cicely! (Couldn't imagine DR sending a postcard to me if sick at home somehow.) A giant refreshed! A grand holiday! Sounds a nice woman.

Yes, I'm bidding on 'The Fun House' (hope I get it.. can't wait to see who wrote it!).
Glad Munch likes Nora Craig's postcards - the two on the website are in my possession but I have since discovered that there are loads of them in the Museum. She must have been a prolific postcard writer!
