The chapel looks beautiful - how come they were allowed to demolish it?

Ths chapel was nice - a lot smaller than the Horsham one. I really don't know why they were allowed to demolish it unless it had something to do with the safety of the building :?

Am I right in thinking that the organ that was in the Music Library in Horsham and now in the dining hall (why is it in there??) was the Hertford chapel organ?

Got a feeling it is but no idea of the reasoning behind putting it. there. There was another organ at Hertford actually - in the school hall.

The organ in Dining Hall now at Horsham is the Father Willis organ which started life in the Dining Hall at Hertford, and then moved to the School Hall in the 1950's.
I don't know what happened to the Hertford Chapel organ.....but I do know that the Chapel was demolished and although some of it was supposed to find its way to Horsham (e.g. the Francis of Assisi stained glass window),it never did get there intact.
The altar from Hertford (carved by members of staff at the turn of the 20th Century) is now in Alfriston Parish Church, East Sussex.
