A Happy and Peaceful Christmas
to you all!
I'm uncertain as to whether or not I'll get on here before Sunday so pass on my good wishes now.

Re: A Happy and Peaceful Christmas
We began celebrating today, after the birth of healthy colt foal in the early hours of the morning. I have to say that the splendid local (Adelaide Hills) bubbles from Bird In Hand taste particularly good when swigged from a shared bottle as we stomped (to scare off any snakes) through the paddocks of horses and watched the dogs playing in one of the dams. Life is good in The Great Southern Land.
Tomorrow we will have a shared lunch with friends who have a pool, and a child due on New Year's Eve. Could be another eventful day.
Have a wonderful holiday everyone.
xx

The light is fading here, after a mild and windy day. No snakes here, but plenty of ghosts of Christmas past.
Merry Christmas everyone.

Yes, its getting dark and we are all sitting round munching maracons (a type of almond biscuit with thick chocolate inside)
(Back to the diet on Monday)

"Peaceful" here ---- although light replacement on Fish tank bought in emergency, was wrong size, although clear intructions given, resulting in NTN having to alter fittings ----not pleased, but did it.
Visiting Sister in Law -- who bought it--- sulking.
NTN wiewing continued visit without enthusiasm.
TBA, as usual, being angelic, and attempting to be nice to both.
"Goodwill to all Men" --- but not necessarially all Women.
Retiring to CH Forum, with stiff whisky -----no Smiley for Sulking !

Re: A Happy and Peaceful Christmas
All my best wishes for a Happy and Peaceful Christmas, to echo Andy's words.
It started well for me when the Vicar gave me a bottle of wine (he doesn't know I don't drink alcohol!) last night in thanks for all I do for the church. After a rocky start I have now established a good relationship with him, and together we have worked wonders on the church finances!

Improving them or embezzling them?
I went out to the shed to fetch my old wellington boots this morning and there was a squirrel in one of them and a dirty great hairy house-spider in the other. Then one of the rings on my electric cooker went bang when I switched it on and now no longer works. Meanwhile a large damp patch has appeared overnight on my bedroom ceiling, even though there's no plumbing anywhere above it.
Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas.
Now will someone please pass me a loaded revolver.

Improving thank you! My predecessor had done the job for more than 25 years, so it was one not very east transfer from quill pen to computer. He did not believe in such things as shopping around for energy deals ....Spoonbill wrote:Katharine wrote: After a rocky start I have now established a good relationship with him, and together we have worked wonders on the church finances!

Sorry to hear about your woes, will they make a good story to tell in the future? Is it just one ring that won't work or the whole cooker?

Re: A Happy and Peaceful Christmas
Family visiting, which is great although occasionally disruptive. Everyone else went to midnight mass, so (2 year old grandson) woke at 0010 to ask in his mixture of french/spanish/tristan where his maman had gone. A couple of cartoons and a small dose of milk got him asleep before thay all returned, much to my surprise, as well as his parents, but to Tristan.
Up early to cook the turkey etc, planned all to be on the table at 1400. Just as it was about to be served, his parents decided it was time for Tristan's afternoon nap. We ate hot, they ate warm, and Tristan came down before they had finished the first course.
Young parents!!!
Nevertheless, it has been a very peaceful Christmas so far, with a fortune spent on Skype.
Now waiting for Tristan to wake again, so that we can take the traditional Christmas afternoon walk.
