I had every intention of watching it but Peter Hain amongst others sent me to sleep on the settee so it had long finished by the time I woke up!

Leonard Cohen was much played in the dayroom at Ch during my time.

Surprised you didn't hear it at CH.

Our vintage, I think.

His band and backing singers, (3 girls), were out of this world. He reminded me of a somewhat quieter Chris Rea.

I don't think LC was played much in Coleridge B.

'Popular music' was somewhat frowned upon. The problems of a Welsh rugby fanatic housemaster perhaps !

He wasn't around when you were at CH, JR, so you wouldn't remember him from then. But I'm a little surprised you didn't listen to him in the 70s when he was at the height of his fame. Anyway, he's one of the "Three Famous Canadians" (alongside JK Galbraith and Marshall McLuhan).

That explains why then Michael.

I was thinking - If I was a teenager at CH listening to LH, then that would place him around 85 these days, and he certainly didn't look that old on the TV.

I think the three main people we listened too were Dave Brubeck, Del Shannon and Brenda Lee - But that's another thread on here.

I've watched the concert 3 times so far - Leonard Cohen is the soundtrack to my teens, " Susanne" in particular, and I played " Songs from a room" so often that my mother finally confiscated it... wonderful man, and his delight at the audience's reaction was touching.

That was the theme of our study in 76-77, if I remember correctly! Particularly when we were a little blue and wanting to feel even more depressed!!
