Sir JS
This is not a contribution to the current Hate Week, just a recollection (which is why it's on this thread). It must have been in 1962 or 1963 that after the plebs had gone to bed, we monitors would listen (or attempt to listen, some of you will know what I mean) to Radio Luxembourg, and this new programme came up, presented by someone we thought was a bit of a joke, namely Jimmy Savile. The programme was called 'Teen & Twenty Disc Club', ot TTDC as he put it. You could order TTDC buttons from Radio Luxembourg. I think my brother had one. (I think this was JS's first public appearance.)

Re: Sir JS
I remember those times well.
I had one of those small tinny transistor radios withy an ear-piece. Very handy under the blanket(s). Radio Lux always used to fade in and out.
As far as JS is concerned, I prefer NOT to make any comment at this stage. (NOTE: I do not refer to him as SIR !)

Re: Sir JS
It can depend on how you spell 'sir'.
In my time the estate manager was Mr Codd. He was known as the cedilla man.

I know how he was referred to, but I've never heard it put like that before!DavidRawlins wrote:It can depend on how you spell 'sir'.

It seems according to the BBC TV lunch-time news today, that owing to further police investigations, this story is about to explode !
