German
I'm sure loads of people will have very fond memories of him and of the study visits to Bavaria. He's now in his last term.

Fantastic chap. I was in the cycling club, and toured many times with FRP.
A prime example of devoting so much love and care to the school, supporting the pupils 110% in the extra-curricular as well as the teaching.
I'm sure he'll be missed.....
Sort of related:- I was down at CH on Saturday, and found my name on one of the cloister notice boards - all time CH Cycling mileage records.
12 years after leaving and I'm 25 on the list!

I'm sure you'd all like to know that he is absolutely loving his retirement, and sees FRP quite regularly. I hope I'm as lively as the both of them when I get to my retirement!

FRP was a star teacher. I was only sad that I couldn't carry on German into A-level although his excellent teaching ensured I loved German enough and was good enough (even after a few years break) to do a NATO technical course for a year where I added useful phrases such as "Can the frogmen inspect the propellors?", "Signal the fishing boat that our fog horn is broken" and "These chocolates are excellent, ambassador" and most importantly "Yes, another Gin and Tonic would be lovely". The lecturer was very impressed at the level I was at having only done GCSE - I reckon it was a lot to do with FRP's teaching.
In my opinion, he was my only teacher who could pull off a really, really good, feeling very small in my boots, class one guilt trip. A much better method and far more effective at getting results than detentions and shouting. I wonder where you can learn to do that.
Oh yes - and end of term coffee and cake. Yum. A true highlight.
