Yes real life sometimes gets very busy and my posting on here so often meant that I wasn't spending enough time on various other projects I was supposed to be developing. (bad pun!)

The Forum was my way of calming frayed nerves. I had just had the news that a close friend had been diagnosed with kidney cancer - and she was to play a key part in a big function I am organising for next week. I had just had a long phone conversation with her crying that she was letting me down, my replying her health was more important etc etc.

So sorry to hear about your friend, but think positive - she has a 'spare' kidney, and, hopefully, the tumour is localised.

Good luck with next week's function - I'm sure that you have organised everything to perfection, and that it will be a huge success.

Thanks for the concern. Yes, I got quite a shock re-reading this thread.

Jean has her good days and her bad, more good than bad now. For years she has been the mainstay of her family with her husband 'enjoying' bad health and a daughter with all sorts of problems - on the waiting list for a multiple transplant. One of Jean's psychological problems was that she had promised daughter a kidney if possible. I think she was bone weary with caring for all and holding it all together.

Hmmm, only if there were no 6th, 7th, etc brothers.

Following scientific notation, although I'm not sure that notation is quite the word I'm looking for, but it's the best I can come up with after a bottle of McLaren Vale Shiraz/Grenache, we would surely have:

nanococious, followed by pico(llo), um, er, brain's gone blank.

Adrian 'Tod' Ramos was a year or so above me in Peele A.

A real card, he was a keen equestrian at CH, regularly riding his horse around the outer reaches of the school grounds.

I may be wrong, but I believe the horse was named 'Bene'. It may be CH myth, but at one stage while Tod was riding the horse, I believe Bene suffered an extraordinarily loud burst of flatulence, followed by an urgent flick of his tail, depositing a huge amount of steaming matter on the road behind him.

Tod was less than amused, and immediately cried 'Oh, Bene!'

From there onwards, any loud burst of flatulence heard anywhere within the school and/or any resulting olefactory carnage, was met by the universal cry, 'Oh, Bene!'

Unforgettable...
