The famous City of London march !

Pretty sure this is 1960, and being a bugler,I wasn't in this parade.

The illustrious Mr Bailey, (minus cigarette), on the right, resplendant in full uniform.

Not sure if it is not a year later as the bass drummer is Pete Ledeboer, and Robin (Joe) Curtis is on cymbals. I cannot see the other bass drummer, but it might have been Nick Ledeboer.
You may be right but...
Bnady didn't change from one year to the next.

How come you weren't in the parade if you are a bugler?

In my day, buglers didn't attend this parade.

I think it was something about keeping numbers as low as possible.

Who is the Drum Major? he bares an uncanny resemblance to Tim Bryant, a former house tutor of mine who I know was a drum major back around then.....

I think you've cracked it, Graham.

I was trying to re-call a name yesterday when I posted the picture.

Tim Bryant was definitely senior Drum-Major when I joined the band at around this time.

Your memory is far better than mine !

Unfortunately I don't think I can claim to have a better memory than you, J.R. - I was 2 yrs above Great Plum in Maine B and so that is how I remember T.B.B. (although I don't recall the name Plug????)

Does anyone know what he's up to now? last I heard he was running a B&B in Horsham and still came back to CH to play fives. He was a great bloke

'Plug' was started on my 3rd form by Chris Fowler who decided that TBB looked like Plug from the Bash Street Kids!

I think he may have sold the B&B now but I'm not sure...

Perhaps JohnH might know his whereabouts, with his connections to the Blue and given his 'era' at Horsham!
