Found this whilst looking for Neill's photo, which I haven't found YET.

That was my first year. I think I recognise one of the girls - Sarah Battye - tall fair hair looking towards us. her mother was my father's Church Warden, so I occasionally saw her out of school.
Annie, Frances or Kerren may recognise more

Sorry, I can't help at all, which is slightly worrying because I would have been two years closer to them than Katharine!

Who is the guy with the fag between his fingers? Can it be Tom Keeley?
The only person I positively recognize on this pic is Graham Riches (the grecian with the RAF plate).

It looks like R.A. (
OK) Hewitt, Dep house-master Coleridge B to me.
Have a look at the photo I posted here.

R.A. Hewitt is the master sitting on the right as you view.
He didn't smoke and I doubt that that is a cigarette between his fingers, whoever he is. Damn bad form on Speech Day, I would have thought. It doesn't look like Tom Keeley to me.

Maybe the thin white cylinder between his fingers isn't a cigarette... Maybe it isn't a master, but he does seem to be wearing a hood.
I knew Hewitt quite well, he was my junior housemaster too for a while. I wouldn't have thought it was him. But memories fade after 50 years...

Before my time but I don't think the master with the cigarette (or not) is Tom Keeley.
Jesson-Dibley (?spelling) was the name that came to mind when I first saw the photo but I wouldn't put my house on it....

Having had a 'closer' second look, I'm even more sure now thatr's it's Mr Hewitt.
