What a hirsute bunch of masculine examples. They look rather brooding and manly. Are you there, sport!?

Nice tie, headmaster!

I hope you realise that the rest of the school had probably slunk off for a fag while this was being taken....

The 'Question Mark' on the middle row appears to be Stuart Barnett and M Sheen should be S (Simon) Sheen.

Somewhere else I asked if Cleverdon had an older sister at Hertford and looking at him they are/were very alike.

good point DavidRawlings.........though do you have to be looking 'into' the sun to be sensitive to glare on a very sunny day?

but on balance, I'll settle for it being glare from the headmaster's Brylcreem

....or the Dining Hall windows

Derek Baker might at least have taken the trouble to put on a suit (Seaman was never seen without one, not that he ever appeared in First Partings photos). But that was probably the least of his (DB's) failings as HM.

I thought Baker was a very popular headmaster by all accounts...

When he left (and as far as I recall, his leaving was quite unexpected), the sigh of relief from some members of the staff was loud enough to be audible even on my side of the Channel. One said it was like waking from a bad dream. Maybe it depends who you talk to.
