Paddy McDaid was the older brother.
Des Lockyer and Adrian Gray would be in there.
Interestingly I thought Rex and myself overlapped but he thought we didn't, the photo may prove otherwise.
I will be interested to hear his comments.

Yes. (and you are right it is Ian Bartholomew). Interestingly in the marching photo Roger does not yet have his buttons.
The house behind us in the marching photo is Col A and I can name two people in their front rank.

I'll go for Harry Spurrier as the older guy. Not 100% on that though

On a (perhaps) unrelated note, do you have any idea why 'Harry's Alley' was so named?

It is Harry. Don't know where Harry's alley is but he lived in a newish house on the road between Thorn B and big side.

I don't unless you are referring to West Gun Copse where he lived when I was there.

In case you missed my earlier post Matron was Jessie Rawson.

Yup, that road was nicknamed 'Harry's Alley'.

I was just wondering how and when the name came into use.

Thanks, I remember now.

A nice lady - she let me nick a load of buttons on my last day. I still have them on a blazer (not that I wear blazers too often, you understand!).

Agreed, but she must have trained with the Hartford matron she couldn't understand why we would wear our own underwear rather than put up with a twice a week change of CH issue.

I met Dave some years after leaving as he was working in a care home just up the road from where I was living at the time.

Bert McConnell and Tim Fryer.
It's a bit worrying how you remember all this when it wasn't your house.

The only identification you've given I'm not sure about is the boy next to Rod Powell. I'm not sure but I think his name was Knaggs not Shearing.
For some in the photo I can hear them speaking but can't remember a name.
