newspapers

i'm a current ch pupil, about to enter my grecians year, from which i'd like to move on to an english lit degree and then hopefully work as a journalist. i was wonderin if anybody had any clue as how to go about getting work experience at a national newspaper. any info would be much appreciated

A number of Old Blues write for national newspapers.

I suggest you try Con Coughlin, defence and security editor of The Telegraph.

A lot of papers only take work experience candidates if they are signed up for a post-grad course.

The usual way into the industry is to complete the NCTJ (National Council for the Training of Journalists) preliminary certificate in newspaper practice (known as NCTJ prelim).
