Following referrals under the undue lenience sentence scheme, the sentence of Peter Webb sentence has been referred to the Court of Appeal, who will determine whether his sentence should be increased.

The hearing at the Court of Appeal will be on Tuesday 27 February 2018.

The sentence of Peter Burr remains under consideration by the Attorney General.

Webb is listed at 10.30 before Lord Justice Treacey, David Calvert-Smith and Judge Sarah Munro.

Tomorrow he will be the one getting shafted.

One of the difficulties with sentencing Webb is that he served an 18 month sentence for offences against one of his victims. The effect of today's judgment is that the Court decided that he should serve the equivalent to a 7 year sentence for the totality of his offending.

What we do now know is that the judge in the Crown Court got it hopelessly wrong. So expect Burr's sentence to be increased to 6 years with an extension period of 4 years.

They will be able to share a cell in prison and swap anecdotes.

I applaud the HM's comments entirely.

It will be interesting to see how the remaining trials pan out, especially if the accused contimue to maintain their innocence.

Burr is up before the beaks tomorrow.

I believe one or more of the NOT guilty pleas are to be heard this or next week, supposedly at Lewes CC.
