A.C.W. Edwards Master 1904-46
Can anyone tell me at which school Teddy Edwards was educated? I have a thought that it may have been St. Edmund's Canterbury.

I would imagine if you get stuck, the School Office should be able to oblige.
I remember 'Teddy' in the early 60's as the School Librarian. A lovely man !

The reason for my enquiry is that there was an A.C. Edwards who played in 1901 for St. Edmund's
School Canterbury. His name appears in the Cricket Archive.
This could well be him as he was born in 1882. His full christian names were Alfred Cecil Wall.
Other CH masters there include G.W. Pink, St. John's School Leatherhead. 1925, E.C. Aitken
Gentlemen of Suffolk 1933. There are of course considerable numbers of CH cricketers going back to the early nineteen hundreds also in the Archive.
I remember Teddy telling us how to remember the date of the Spanish Armada by the last two digits of 1588 resembling sails.

Re: Teddy Edwards
When I saw this question, my immediate response was "Yes, of course he was." But then I thought: "How do I know this?". The answer to that is: "I don't know how I know." I suspect that a link was made in my adolescent brain by some written reference, but I can't think what it was.

I vaguely remember, way back in the very distant past at CH, someone telling me that Teddy in his younger days was a gifted cricketeer.
Surely, the Office at CH could help on this ?

Incidentally I was curious to read that Kit played for the Gentlemen of Suffolk. For a Canary like him, surely this was the ultimate treachery?

One of my History memories from CH was that 1666 was the Great Fire of London - can't you see all those houses on fire in the sixes?Kit Bartlett wrote:I remember Teddy telling us how to remember the date of the Spanish Armada by the last two digits of 1588 resembling sails.

Keep it up and I'll be able to take a GCSE in history soon.
