Re: Who Knew What?
Everyone heard the rumours about the Norfolk Broads trips, Soirry TMF, I am not sure why I am asking this, because perhaps I don't wnat to kno wthe answers, but as someone who went on these trips 3 times in the 80's is there any more on this? I don't recall anything untoward, but perhaps like other...

Re: Over on Facebook
Not true, he is as shocked and disappointed as many of us, but is concerned where he stands legally and doesn’t have a richardb to advise (as well as, as I think the moderators here will concur, time pressures meaning he hasn’t time to keep on top of it)

Re: Who Knew What?
Just been back to the ‘Curious’ thread - the letter referred to in the ITV report by one of the victims is the same letter mentioned by Richard and me above.

Re: Who Knew What?
I was a pupil at the school when Burr was moved on. Not a word was said to parents about him interfering with the pupils. The same happened with Webb. Not only was he moved on, but parents were told anything but the truth. Further to Richard’s quote I did share with the moderators a copy of the let...

Re: Christ's Hospital / The Church of England / Child Abuse
There is a name on the kimbolton link who was convicted in 2010. I am curious as to whether it is the same person who taught geography at CH in late 80’s early 90’s. The persons’ age reported seems to suggest not, but I wondered if anyone else can confirm ? (Doesn’t seem right to post the name here...

Re: Curious
I have not been here for ages, but have spent a (quite challenging) afternoon catching up with some stuff. On this particular thread, Webb turned up on Scout Summer camp as a helper in July 1984, staying on Burr's narrowboat that was moored next to the campsite. Burr was there for a few days as well...

And modesty prevents JH mentioning he is quoted too?

Gaz, would love to come, but unfortunately already got 3 events that day.
I am sure it will be a success, my thoughts will be with you and you family on the day.

Re: Beating retreat, end of term.
Senior Drum Major in my day (forgotten his name could definitely do it, and also performed the 'triple toss' (3 complete revolutions in the air) during Beating retreat.
I never managed retreat, as I was not that good but did a few lunch parades before giving up.

Re: Old Blues Day, 2012
I knew of Bill and remember exactly where I was when I was told he had died - in the dormitory of Consiton Youth Hostel just before Christmas in my UF so must have been December 85 (which would tie in with Frances' comment above, it was the end of the first term after the merger), we were told by Ga...

Re: School Prospectus
Could I add to the dissenters who are voicing concern about the cost? I have school age children and therefore may have had an interest in going, however I would request prospectuses of those schools I am interested in rather than receiving an unsolicited glossy mailshot. If the school would like me...

Finally got round to watching part 1 - Ben Monaghan hosting squits tea, where I think we may have the first 'TV' appearance of James (Simon) D'arcy about 5.30 in, perhaps Madonna saw this before casting him in WE?

Re: Some Sad News - Michael Carrington
Very Sad, taught me my 'o' level set texts, and I remember him being quite dismissive of the Terence Stamp/Julie Christie film version of 'Far from the madding crowd' as being too shallow and not showing the depth Hardy gave his characters. His sone John was a non-foundationer in my house - my condo...
